| A newbie Clod question So, I read the sticky of how to build, now my question is do I buy the Super Clod Buster to start building or do I use everything aftermarket all at once? The sticky didnt really specify. If I'd need everything aftermarket I'm probably going to get a Super Clod Buster just to have one. Tell me what you all think. |

Thats all up to you. Id start stock and build from there. Youll learn more about the setup that way.

First thing I did was scrap the Mechanical Speed Control and put in a Electronic Speed Control. That made a huge difference in drivability. Next step was scrapping the the stock steering system and putting a servo on each axle for the 4 wheel steering. Clods do not have a good turning radius with just the front wheels turning but with all 4's turning it is not bad. You can mod the steering stops and get more turn though if you want just the front steer. I like 4 wheel steer myself. After that are started on building chassis and got some 65 turn lathe motors. | |

Yeah, I heard that 2 ESC are better and that 4WS would stay. All I want to know is how much do some of you have into (money) these things? Whats the deal with these lathe motors, why use them? What is the run time on average?

| Today I got it!
Today I got the Super Clod Buster. I almost have it built but I didn't know that it only comes with 4 bearings, so tomorrow I have to get the 20 bearings that are needed. Now, do you all lock the rear diff or the front or what and how you do it. I was thinking that I'd use like chaulk or something in the rear only. Tell me what you think all. Thanks. |

the best thing to do is use jb weld and take the diff and fill up the gears with it ! be sure to keep the jb out of the center hole as the axle shafts still have to go in there! and i would lock both the front and the rear! |

I would just spend the money and mod the truck. All my other hobbies golf, airsoft rc ect. I bought the stock version. It seems I spend more money. I say just go full blown and buy the moded crawler instead of building it up.
