Default just got an old school clod

just got an old school clod of the bay

it has its share of bugs which i new about but for 120 shipped and it has the bowtie symbol along with the chevy on the tailgate, i dont think it was a bad deal. i fixed one of the motors and worked some of the electrical gremlins out of it. it moved fine for a minute but then the throttle servo started cutting out then it pegged itself in reverse on its own. fresh battery pack and new batteries in the transmitter. what could cause this?

also it doesnt turn, i want to get rid of the center turning servo and put one on the front instead but im not sure how to go about it. it has some monster mash motors iirc and they are pretty good, lots of power. i also busted the on off switch and the power/economy switch when it took off on its own. were can i pick those up at or are they needed? i want to keep this as lowbudget as i can cause im still not sure if i want to keep the vehicle for a while. what are some good upgrades for this thing?

i tried to drive it around a few times but things are backwards and all over the place on this. and it is still all dusty and camoed out. i think everything is backwards on this cause it hauls in reverse and slow as molasese in forwards but i dont know.

Sooo... What's in the other?

What are your plans for it? I'm sure you already know not to chop that body up. You could sell it and fund a nice chassis or electronics upgrade.

im jsut going to restore this one. i bought the clod for the body and was going to cut it up but i think that plan has changed. the more i look at it the more i want to make it run and have fun with it. when it works it hauls balls but thats short lived right now. goint to upgrade to an esc which i havent picked yet and fix the steering cause its basically non existant at the moment. cant deside if i want to keep the rear steer or block it off and just go with front steer. also considering the rear steer setup from the crawler store (i think thats who it is) that uses the traxxas tq3 radio.

If you are going to restore and run it I would lock out the rear steer. With such a short wheelbase they tend to roll easily at high speeds. This has destroyed many original clod bodies.

prices are different everywhere that link was just so you get the idea you can buy the servo mount and make your own links or make all of it
