| Cable Steering / C Channel Stick
It is time to redesign my truck. The first version can be found here http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showt...970#post379970 The new chassis length will be adjustable from 14" to 16.5". The shorter length is good for around central Ohio because the terrain is usually sharp boulders and rocks. For my first set up on this truck it will be set up for 14". The truck will not have shocks, it will use the the C channel as a torsion bar. I am using most of the equipment from my old setup on this truck, except for the rear set of batteries that drove the servos. Those will be replaced by a voltage regulator. So far I like how it is coming out, what do you guys think? |

I like it, and it'll be really sweet to watch my Hi Lift stomp that thing. I think you should plug both servos right to the battery. Run nothing but the signal wire to the reciever, and then the positive and negatives go right to the plug from the ESC to the battery. Or maybe run the front to the battery, and the rear to the reciever with the Soopa Roosta giving it 6 volts and 3 amps. I'd run em both to the battery. |

I thought about the chassis setup some more, and I rearranged the steering. Up front there will be normal link steering but the knuckles will be reversed so that the steering will be behind the axles. The back steering will be activated by cable, with a front mounted servo. This will put the weight of both giant scale servos up front. Now some pics |

This is the second go around of his cable steering contraption. The servos, although freaking huge and goofy looking, are powerful as heck. The steering works good. You can watch all the plastic parts flex around. They're wired right to the 6 cell battery, so they're nice and strong. We have a video posted with his first truck somewhere around here. The new video is done, but I'mma let rupps check it out first, maybe tweak it a tad, then we'll get it posted up. |

Everything is super cramed into the front of the truck. After the bugs are worked out I will clean up all of the wiring.

This is the first video I have taken and edited. The camera is a nikon 4500 set on movie mode and I used adobe premiere pro to join the clips together and encode the vid for windows media player. I am dissapointed of the cameras video and audio quality. The video is of the cable steering. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jL-Uap-xRjQ |

Seems to work perfectly. Nice and sharp. Now it's time to hit some rocks .
