Default my first crawler*newer,better pics*

Well here it is for now, been working on it and driving it for a while now. just a couple more things on the way for it then it's pretty much done,,,,,well we all know they are never done. its an Inet RC v6 chassis, links, inner axle braces. RC 4wd full steering kit, clear gear covers, metal axle braces with mounting plates, adkisable motor mounts, aluminum diff lock, aluminum knuckles and wheel spacers. Traxxas big bores with 20wt oil, txt wheels narrowed over 1.25" with giant trac tires. it also has full ball bearings, and for electronics its got a Traxxas tx/rx with rear steer mod, dual Hitec 645's, Moped esc and 65t lathes with 8t pinions. so far it has been working quite well. i actually enkoy it more than all my nitro trucks. i even got a couple guys here hooked and want to build some as well. let me know what you guys think and also any suggestions on how i could improve it.

Looks pretty nice, I'm enjoying the trophy used for the flex shot.

looks good. might need to move the shocks closer to the rearends, for more down force on the axles.

i tried the shocks at all different spots. any lower on the arms and the truck just sags. never tried any preload spacers yet. when these(link below) come in, i might try savage shocks mounted like in the pic above the arm. plus i don't like the lower mounts that i have now,,,the snag on everything. does anybody have a better way to mount them to the arms??

Getting the bottom of the shocks close to the axles will keep them from hanging up. Try laying down the shocks and adding some spring spacers or using black springs.
Another option would be to fab up something to move the top of the shocks closer to the axles, thereby allowing you to move the bottom.

looks good, but try moving the lower links to upper hole where the c brace goes gives better clearance

i just happen to have a set of black springs. you don't think they would be tto stiff. i guess i could try them. also wouldn't moving the links to the top of the c braces require me to shorten them?? that worries me abit becuase then i will have to make a new set if it doesn't work out well lol!

here's some pics of the new suspension setup. i tried the black springs for a bit but they were just way too stiff. the reds seem much better and i put a medium spacer and it set the ride height just right.

you can see the shock mounts are now "behind" the tires

the new "c" braces

i am still planning on trying savage shocks, so i made the links to fit on the second hole

different body

some more of my rc family

l-r,,savage 25, tmaxx, savage x, and well, the clod.

thanks grizzly. now i figured i should just ask this here instead of starting a new thread. judging by this pic:

how would i rig up bta steering? i know i should just try but to me it just doesn't look like it would work. are those carbon fibre steering links(the flat ones) really strong. i might have to go with something like that because i just don't think a tube will clear.

Hey, this is looking good and slightly familiar. The INET chassis is great and of course Giant Tracs still rule!

http://www.richardf.com/pics/inet/INET_Jeep_02.JPG

Putting a battery in it sags it enough to level it off. I too had tried all kinds of shock/link/spring/mounting choices and this was the best setup.

lol sweet ride!! i like the way you think hehe. so when you put your batt in it levels out well? what kind of battery are you using? i see your batt cradle looks small for a stick pack.

I agree, it doesn't look like a tube will clear your link-mount brackets. The best thing to do would be to swap the knuckles and see though because it is hard to tell from the pics if the bracket will get in the way of the tie rod or the steering link.
I have never seen those brackets in person but maybe someone that has will help out.

The carbon fiber flat tie rod should be strong enough, or you could make your own from aluminum plate. My bta steering uses a 3/16" tie rod and it just barely clears the motor.
