Question 12 - 14mm Wideners

I'm looking at 12 to 14mm wideners for my Clod. How do they work? If they are 3/4" wider, how to the axle screws reach?

Ok, I'm only gonna help ya with this cause you're local, but I must say I'm surprised you didn't berated by flamers for this question. Some friendly advice though - this really belongs in the "newbie" section, and the information you seek is already here if you look for it.

Now on to your question - You solve the problem by using a barrell nut, which basically is a long threaded tube that reaches in to catch the threads. Most adapter sets include the appropriate nuts to go with them. Check out the vendors here (thecrawlerstore, rcguy, Ace), as some add more width than others, depending on how wide you want to go.

Finally, welcome to the board, and the crawlin scene here in the PNW. Do a search for WARCRC if you want to compete or get together with some local folks. It's a great group, and you can learn a bunch just by hanging out and asking questions and checking out the other trucks.

A few kits also offer an axle extension piece that your standard 4mm axle nut just screws on to. Serves the same purpose as a barrel nut and one of the two are required once you start getting into the larger offset spacers.

Hello,

I had this problem as your question. So I used some parts of the clod to do my custom adapter from 12mm to 14mm as picture in this link.
