I made some skid plates for my axles and to protect my wimpy but lightweight steering links. I haven't tried them out yet, but basically I took some 2" strips of sheet aluminum and bent them to shape, and then bent up tabs which attach using the gearbox screws. We'll see how they perform. I'm hoping that they will slide easily over the rocks and assist in crawling. Here's the pics:

Pretty cool 8-) I had thought about doing somthing like that.
