Default And so the project begins!!!!

Well, I got my clod. it was in sad shape, but for the price I paid for it, I am willing to clean it up.

I just ordered my ESP Clodzilla Chassis kit and will begin to assemble it when it arrives. I ordered the servo kit to place a servo on each axle, bearing kit and shocks.

I'll need other parts and will list them as I continue this build.

I'll post pictures as I continue with this project.

Bigflex I would sell it but I want to use the body. As for the bumper, when I got it, it was cracked in half. I need to try and repair it. Maybe a litle crazy glue.

Sorry :-(

I saw one and liked the way it looked. I am not really going to build a all out rock crawler. I wanted to build something that I can do a little bit of everything with.

I have a zilla 4 and with some mods it has become a pretty good crawler, has quite a lot of flex.

You said you ordered mounts for the servos to go on the axles? If you got the ones from ESP they suck! according to esp you mount the servos with servo tape and zip ties. That just wont hold up to a high torque servo.

Pic of my zilla

Which axle servo mounts should I use?

I second what hurricanemitch said: those servo mounts suck! I've had pretty good luck using aluminum angle for servo mounts if you feel like going the build it yourself route.

I just purchased a pair of Matrix Pro Lathe Motors 35T By Integy.

Now to look for a pair of good axle servo mounts and some gears.

Pretty nice Clod. Looks like it will be a neat build to follow. Something different than a comp Clod.

I'm going to give them a look

I went there and I am going to put the RcGuy Pro Steering Kit on my list of the next things to buy.

Thanks for the advise.
