| after market servo mounts
I have 2 sets of servo mounts. One is the kind that mounts horizontally on the supports and the other is the style that mounts vertically along the side of the axle. Which one would give me better steering? Or does it not matter? horizontal. verical |

I dont think it matters. If you search through various pictures on the site you will see various ways they have been mounted. I dont think there is a right or wrong way. I think it more to do with what suits your needs.

Horizontal is better because the servo does not stick out in front (or behind, on the rear axle) as much as with the vertical mount. Plus with the horizontal you can move your tie rod to the top of the steering arms for better clearance.

Vertically mounted it has no deflection but sticks out too far. Rock catcher for sure. Last edited by flexmonger; 01-20-2007 at 03:37 PM. | |

the mean reason not to place it in front of the axle its clearance going up or down hill it scrapes most put a zip tie around the servo to hold it still .or cpe has a mount that goes all the way around the servo and they are the cheapest
