THANKS, I do lose some steering with the saver,s ,but I think I will keep them on as I cannot afford to replace the servo,s if they break. I wont be competing with the truck so losing the steering sometimes, won,t really be a problem.

I can see what you mean, no since in taking unnecessary chances w/ your servos if your not competing.

They only cover the bottom of the motors, the motors don,t seem to run any warmer with them.

Nice build, if you want to keep the savers and still have it be tough check out the Kimbrough gas servo savers, They have a really tough spring and are for metal gear servo's only. I use em on mine since I run giant tracs. I was killing gears in my 645's before using these, the good thing is replacement gears are like $8.

I have to concur here - I have been through 3 servo savers now - And I much prefer the servos without. You get a far more responsive turn and greater angle without them - but you will break the arms regularly (small price to pay ;)
Particularly if you run lead in the wheels (I do)
Current setup I have the std servo saver on airtronics servo (front) and none on the rear hitec servo.

I was bored on sunday night so I decided to "shave" the lug off the bottom of my axles, But I went a little toooo far! and went through !!

I made a couple of axle skids out of some stainless steel tubing.

Then I stuck them on to the bottom of the very thin axle cases,

heey - schweet mod drzjohn - Like the idea!

Was thinking of making bashplates for my stick, but I think the main criteria is to protect the steering arms vs the bottom of the diffs.. Which also presents the problem of how do you mount it .. Will have a chew on that one.. %)

All looks to be good.

Maybe switch the ESC and the battery, other than that, I really don't see anything out of the order.

I was with John and his stick the other day. It really is a beautiful looking truck. It is also so smooth even at really slow speeds.

Question

I'm building a stick and will be using a MTRONICS RV15. What's the difference to your ESC?

I am not sure what the differences are, here is a link to the specs of the SSR all I can say is it works fantastic on my clod and I have one on my tlt,I actually run the ESC the wrong way =fowards as reverse and reverse as fowards,I found that using it this way gives a fowards brake when you let go of the throttle ( not a lock up brake ) ,so the truck is very controllable on steep decents. here is the link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mtroniks-VIPER...em130077700308
