Default Project Stick'r Shock, my first crawler build.

We all know how much it can cost to build a competition rig. With that in mind and with the receipts sitting here staring me in the face the name for this build hit me; Project Stick'r Shock. Project Stick'r Shock is my very first crawler build. I can't wait to get it completed and out on the rocks so I can see exactly what it is capable of. I'm very excited and am sure that it will be able to perform well beyond my current crawling abilities. I just hope it doesn't take me too long to catch up.

Here are the build details:

TCS Stick chassis.
Dual Hyperion z3013 outrunners.
Dual Mamba 25’s.
Narrowed Black Axial bead lock wheels with Red Holey Roller rings.
Pro-Line Moab XL’s.
Dual Hitec 5955 servos.
New Era aluminum steering knuckles.
RC Guy Pro Steering kit.
RC Guy Adjustable Motor Mounts.
Thundertech CVD’s.
Thundertech diff lockers.
Traxxas Big Bore shocks.
Custom 5/16” Delrin Links.
MaxAmps 2100HV 3s 11.1v Li-Po Batteries.

A very special thank you goes out to Kevin at The Crawler Store, John at Holmes Hobbies, Austin at MaxAmps and The awesome group of people that is Team SVSC. Your collective advice and help in completing this project has been invaluable to me. Thanks guys!

I have more pictures to post and more progress has been made.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my build. I would ask that you please leave your comments for me, both good and bad, on this build.

I am wondering how long those Thundertech diff lockers are going to last under that much power. Aren't they made out of a type of plastic? You may want to go with some aluminum ones.

Don't forget to make some type of skid plate for the outrunners, wouldn't want to stall just because the motor can touches a rock.

Definately some big $$$.

I've been thinking the very same thing. I've already got them so I'm gonna run them until they fail. Once/if they fail I'll get the aluminum ones. With any sort of luck they don't fail the first time out.
I'll be sure to make skids for the motors. Thanks for the advice!

I'm not complaining at all. I was just trying to come up with a name for the build, that's all.

I believe you have a power complex, the only cure is too pack that stuff up now and send it to me. Do not hesitate, it will only get worse.

I'd have to agree with that Chevellian, except for that whole pack it up and send it to me part. You can never have too much power.

Here are some shots of the progress that has been made so far on this project. The last items that need to be completed yet is to connect the links to the axles (once the delrin ones are complete), connect the steering links to the servos and all of the wiring.
