Default Finally made it over to the Darkside

After saying I'd never drive a stupid clod as a comp rig; I finally made it over to the Darkside. I've owned clods before but never built one as my primary comp rig.

Area 51 chassis
Quark 33, Original Revolver, Hitec 5995 x 2
DX-6
RC4WD metal gears
TTR CVDs, and BTA steering

Here are some pics from our 1st SERCRC comp this year. Now I just have to learn how to drive this thing.

Custom chassis and links. Yeah it's got a Hemi! I have different digs and mixes set up on the DX-6, that radio can do everything.

Here are some naked pics.

The color is actually a transparent red backed with silver then black. It has a copper look to it especially in those pics. I had thought about doing it copper I was pleased when it came out having that tint to it.

It's got good clearence and it isn't as top heavy as it looks since the upper chassi is all Dragon plate (CF). Just put the revo shocks on it after the comp, still need to soften them up a little.

I kind of like that chassis design. Looks to have Low CG and good clearance.Thats one of the coolest chassis set ups I have seen for some time. Even with the Catvl. set up.

Love to see it in action!

Good luck w/ the Revo springs, I never did find any soft enough for my taste.

Since it has the canties that helps with the stiff springs. I was thinking jato springs but they might not be stiff enough.

looks good joey. wish i could have seen it in action once you got it dialed in. It looks like you just took heavy's old body and put it on yours and made heavy go get a new one

Now why would go and do a thing like that. you know that copper is one of the ugliest colors you could paint a body

See you at the next comp

It worked alot better than the day you saw it move for the first time. I lowered it and that got rid of the "inch worm" effect that it had.

That's a great looking rig Joey.

It kicked *** this weekend, take the clearance of a stick with the geometry of a good 4-link and it rocks. It's to bad Heavy will only build three of them...
