Default Not So Crawler Clod.....

Well,

My buddy decided he wanted to do something with his pile of Clod pieces (once it was a Clod, untill he drove it off a 12' ledge in a skate park reducing it too nothing more the plastic shards and a surprisingly untouched set of axles...). So I agreed to make him something a little more fun.

It's not a true crawler, it's more of an all-purpose basher, but I figured I post some pics none the less.

It's got a custom chassis, links, and suspension design, with rockers swiped of an X-Factor. Steering is handled by a pair of servos that decided to live in the chassis, to avoid axle-bashing destruction. Works great, and keeps the axles clean.

Futaba ESC, stock 540 cans and the reminants of the old Clod body top it all off.

It still needs a new body and some oil shocks, but aside from that............it lives!

Enjoy...............

If his body is still in decent shape I have a body he may be interested in trading me for ;)

Wheelbase is just over 12", and center clearance checks in at 4".

jason,

Trust me, you don't want his body! The pics barely show it, but the front is smashed, and it is split all the way up the hood on one side.

Concrete shows no mercy from a long distance free-fall.............

Thanx for the compliments on the chassis, guys.

I woulda made the wheelbase longer if it was gonna spend all it's time crawling............but it's really more of an all purpose toy for bashing and such.

Besides..........if I want a longer truck for crawling, I'll just break out the jeep.

Or get off my lazy but and finish the savage-axle project............

ScaleCrawlersInc, the wheelbase is set at 12" right now.

If you're doing a crawler, then 14"-16" with Clod axles would probably be better, however. I chose 12" for this one for 2 reasons:

1) It's not a real crawler ;)
2) 12" lines up pretty well with Maxx sized bodies for a slightly more "scale" look.

Ya.

Oh wait................now I get it.

Damn.

Burning the thing would probably be more fun if it wasn't made of metal.........damn aluminum stock just doesn't burn so well.

Plus, if the truck lived through the skate-park incident, it'd likely live through a stove top BBQ also.

Thanx for the feedback anyways diggler ;)
