Default my clod so far..

I really like the looks of a 4 link clod, but I didn't want to build a tall chassis just to mount shock so I decided on this.

Differnt. I think you might be on to something. Bend those bottom link to get them out of the way. Also that center section you have you links mounted to looks like it needs to be made of thicker material. But good idea you have...

Ya I was thinking about bending the links, but I also want to get some aluminum tubes to cover then first. lol....don't know if i'll be able to bend them after covering them though..thats 5mm threaded rod.

The center section is made from stainless steel that I got for free, so its a lot stiffer then it looks. Though I'll probably change it to aluminum later.

I finally got all the electronics and some half decent tires mounted, so I had a chance to do just a little testing today. With the two torsion rods its a still a little on the soft side (I can get 90 degrees of articulation), but I left alot of room for adjusting on the chassis. I can either add a couple more rods or move the mounts further apart on the chassis. The axle also likes to rotate a little on acceleration but I'm not sure if thats gonna be bad yet.

I'll try to get some action shots up as soon as I can do a little more tuning

what material and diameter are the two rods?

looks like a clod version of that bmwII or whatever that chassis is called.

The rods are 4mm stainless steel. They seem to work ok so far since they don't have to bend much to get a lot of articulation. But when I was working with it I noticed that it wasn't very springy and would stay bent pretty easily.

I can't find this "piano wire" that everyone uses to build their bmv type rigs. Can anyone fill me in to what exactly that is?
