| My 2.2 "Stick"...Pics! Well, here's a few teaser shots. Once again, the "crappy cam" was employed for pic duty, but once it's actually complete, I'll borrow a good cam for some action shots. Here it is before I stick the velcro on the plates to hold the electronics and such. The wheels are only temp. (that's why they're not dyed yet), I will be using diff. wheels with more backspacing with the All-T's pictured. Also, I'm whipping up some 'lock rings for the new wheels. Still have to paint a body for it, I'm not really looking forward to that... :? . Some of the specs so far: WB: roughly 12" Track width (outside to outside): 12.5" Wheels: loaners (will be using HPI wheels for stampede) Tires: Imex All-T's Chassis: modified TCS Extreme for 2.2 Weight: 5lbs. 14oz. RTR (with batt. & body) Motors: 55T Lathes Axles: Clod w/stock pinions Elec.: stock Traxxas servos from my emaxx (F&R), mod. TQ3 from thecrawlerstore, EVX esc., 8 Cell Kahn brick pack (2/3A - 1050mAh) *NOTE* The TCS Extreme will eventually be offered in 2.2 sizing, but this is a one-off example of what they will somewhat look like. All of the plates/shock uprights/etc. have been "speed-holed" to further reduce weight. Tell me what 'cha think! Last edited by WRMorrison; 03-13-2005 at 05:41 PM. |

Nice work, that looks sweet! The machined mounting plates are a nice touch. Have you decided on a body yet?

| Thanks for the reply bender, I'm thinking of using the CJ8 I've got here. I just bought a military humvee body from proline for my maxx hybrid, but it looks pretty sweet atop this thing, so, who knows... We'll see! |

| Well, I just got everything soldered together (not pretty, but heat-shrink covers my lack of experience well ), so tomorrow will be its maiden voyage. I'm also gonna try to "hurry up" and paint a body tomorrow. Also forgot to mention, kudos to RokToy for letting me borrow some spare clod parts that I was missing so that I could get this thing together. Otherwise, I'd probably be waiting until mid-March for tower to get the items I needed in stock. |

| Thanks Rocpede. EeePee, I'm gonna check with cheapbatterypacks.com and see what they offer in 2/3A and get some 8 cell brick packs with a decent mAh. Today, Kev, RokToy, myself and newcomer went out for a fun crawl. I used one of Kevin's 8 cell Kahn brick packs, and it works well, but I'm looking for a bit more run time. We had a blast though. I'll post pics up in a min. when they're emailed to me. |

Here's some better pics for 'ya. These were shot during our (Kev, RokToy, myself and a newcomer) get-together today. The body is a loaner from Kevin until I get one painted. Hopefully, mine will turn out at least half as nice! Enjoy!

And I've been eyeballing something with a little longer life also. I just don't know if they'll fit on the tray. GP 4/5SC 2200. Hot new cell. 40 amp cell. I've read the two Lathes can pull 30 amps, so I try to keep that in mind. CBP 2000 4/5SC Low cost alternative to CP1700SCR. Good 20-30amps cell. Can handle bursts to 35-40 amps. Or the battery Kevin recommends... So many choices!! http://www.unipros.com/cbpsite/custo...sion_id=275563

one of the packs rich was running was a 2/3A Cells kan 1050. these packs worked for a while but then showed some issues. i need to test them more. if they do hold up to the current draws they will be a good choice for comps because they are light. i've been eyeballing allot of different cells also. i know there are some good ones out there that will work in addition to the zagi pack. i think the 4/5A cells are a good size for the current levels. been looking at these: GP 2000A Sanyo HR1950FAUP Sanyo HR1700AUP would also like to find some lighter cells though. the weight savings when using the lipolys was noticeable, and i'd like to figure out how to make them work. |

I was wondering to gain even MORE clearance under the sticks could you bend the middles up a lil bit considering nothign is mounted there it should really affect CG?

Well, it's a hollow aluminum tube, so bending it isn't an option. But there's definately a way to do it...like extruding a tube in the curved shape. |
