Default different shock ends? maxx size.

ok, ive hit a snag in my build.
seems the standard Traxxas Tmaxx shocks just arent long enough to fit onto the axles.
seems someone made a few bad measurements and the links have pushed the axles that little further away than i thought .
ok to be honest i didnt really take the shocks into account at all when i was measuring the length of the links, for some reason i just assumed the shocks would fit on. seems i was wrong.
anyway, the way i see it i have 3 options.
1) go back and cut all the links a little bit shorter and retap the threads
2) buy longer shocks
3) find a shock end (not cap) that is about 10mm longer than the standard Traxxas shock end that will fit the standard Traxxas thread.

i cant see myself going back and cutting the links again so that is basically out.
longer (and better) shocks is an option, so maybe some suggestions there?
different shock ends would also work but im not going to hold my breath in the hope of finding any with the same size thread.

so im open for peoples suggestions

Post up some pic's of what your working on.
We'll be able to help you better.
Most people mount the shocks on the links not the axles.
But I depends on what your building.
Post pic's...

Maybe pick up some 120mm shocks from run2jeepn? I think I read somewhere that maxx shocks are somewhere between 105mm and 110mm lonh, so that might solve your problem.

Kinda confused but i think you are saying your shocks aren't long enough. Have you tried savage shocks? They are longer than maxx shocks and you can cut the spring to the desired height you want and then add brake line over the shock shaft inside the shock so it limits the extended length. That's what i did on my 1:6 scale rubi.

The savage shocks were a bit too long so i had drop down brackets made from scrap angled aluminum and hung them on the servo mounts. I cut off about 1/4" of the spring and added 1/4" long brake line on the inner shaft inside the shock and they fit perfectly. The shocks give me more than enough flex

i seen the 120mm from R2Jn. might just till i have the top link mounts in or a mock up of), just to make sure the measurements are correct.
the set up you have with the savage shocks is a completely different truck than what i am building.
my shocks are more lay down/angled.
ill get some pics up on my thursday.
