| Wheelbase Question (Clod Body/ 2.2 stick chassis)
What is the WB of a Clodbuster Chevy body from the center of the wheel well in the front to the center of the wheel well in the back? I`ve been thinking about making an RC crawler for my brother`s Christmas present and want to make it a scale model of a truck he likes. I want to base it on the Crawler store`s 2.2 stick chassis and wanted to know if that would fit and look pretty scale. My brother is coming out of college and can`t afford to start a 1:1 rig.

Also, would a stick 2.2 be tough enough to take a lot of all around abuse (mud, bashing, and rocks) that`s what I bet he would do with it.

I think you'd be better off with something like a Gecko II chassis for looks. The stick is all about competition, and it doesn't have any vertical suspension travel, only articulation, so that would limit it. I've moved this topic to the clod forum so you can get some better answers. |

its 12"-12-1/4" im preety sure the stock clod body is not quit 12-1/2" I will also agree with the "Plays" the stock is a rockcrawler comp only chassis you would be better off with a diffrent type of chassis. |

I saw the Gecko 2 chassis and I kind of like it but I had an idea to build a scale looking truck to match a camo painted Chevy that he likes.

Now I think I have changed my mind, seeing another post in the tires section about Swamp Kongs I think I might get a Gecko 1 chassis and put those on with a camo painted Chevy body ( the truck he likes has boggers). (The stick idea is still in the back of my head though.) Would locked up clod axels be able to hold these tires?

Actually, I`ve heard that lathe motors are way low. I know that he will use it for all around bashing so I would like a good in-between performance package.

Aww Hale ! I just remembered that his favorite truck is the TXT 1. It also has more possible speed since a 2 speed tranny is a swap in option. And I know that he will want to try to race my Big Evil X Factor . Sorry guys, but keep the help coming, in the future when I get some more time and money, I`ll want to try my hand at making an electric crawler and a Clod is at the top of my list. I`ll try to ask questions in the TXT forum for anybody who can still help.
