| beefing up knuckles...worth it?
My knuckles have been breaking on rollovers. It snapps right where the tie rod screws on. I had a little time and experiemented with sheetmetal and jb-weld on my last two knuckles. I reinforced the outer edge with some heavy sheetmetal and super glued that on there. Then i coated it with a thick coat of jb-weld. Think it'll help a little? On a normal knuckle, i can bend that arm with my hands but the jb-welded ones won't move no matter how hard i bend it. It's rock solid. I know i moved the weakness spot somewhere else but at least i don't break my last knuckles. Maybe i'll invest in some alum knuckles if these don't last. |

I think it'll help a little but maybe next time you'll break the whole arm off. for the ultimate force get some JPcustoms knuckles I might be wrong but from the looks I'd say there is some mud on your rig what body is that? looks like a giant jeep or something. |

And yeah that stubstance sticking on the rig is PA mud. I took the rig bogging in about 4" of thick mud. | |

A little more costly but in the long may well be worth it , how about the raptor 2 axles $140.00 ea. and complete. I may be going that way because of constant breakage on my stock clod axles . But what do I know.

in over years worth of comps, and many 1st place finishes i have never broken a single part. knuckles, C's whatever. that being said i just installed JPs knuckles and to use knuckle packs, they have INSANE BEEF, but i will probly go back to stock cuase i dont like the added width from the 1" wideners needed for the axial beadlocks to clear the sub-C cells. |
