Default CR01 Diff possible issue

Hello everyone
Just got my CR01 Yesterday and started the building process last night.
So far all is good but one of the diffs seems to have a tight spot in it. At one point I can hardly turn it by hand. I looked it over and do not see a noticeable change in mesh.

Anyone else run across this?
Know a solution?

I had something similar in my new CR-01 and I went back and loosened the locking pin in the differential a bit and re-thread locked it so it was not so tight. I had it in there really tight and I think it was causing the axle shaft to move ever so slightly that it caused the "tight spot" on the ring and pinion. I have not had much chance to run it though, but I did spin it for a bit with the old hand drill to help with break in.

Just run it, it will loosen up after a couple of packs.

Did you lock the diff? If so, you probably screwed the pin in too tightly. Put thread lock on it, thread until you feel it bottom out, and then back out 1/2 to 1 full turn. Let the thread lock dry and assemble.

I have exactly the same problem. Both axles have a real tight spot - I can barely turn either of them by hand. I've backed the locking pins out and it doesn't seem to have any effect. Definitely feels like a gear mesh issue - but like the OP, I can't see any problem with the teeth around the rough spot. Hopefully mine loosens up once I start running it.

with all the tlt axles i have built and my hi lift as well as my tlc i have had this problem more then once. im experience its just a matter of breaking in the new gears.

I have noticed the same thing last night building mine. With the diff locking pine out they turn nice and smooth and with it in it catches a little I too backed my pin out a little and it got better and then ran them a little on my cordless drill and they got even better.
