It depends on how much you want to spend, you'll need a high torque servo ,some go with hitec, some with jr, and others like me will be using the tower pro mg946r's or 995's -$20 for near or at 200 oz of torque.
Esc wise look for a crawler esc ,novak brushed or brushless , castle creations, it comes with a stock 540 motor, ok for playing around ,crawling guy's go with lathe turn motors- novak has bushed crawling kit with a 55t lathe motor.
Radio wise the sky's the limit, I have a futaba 3pm fasst 2.4, then the 3pk ,there's specturm, nomadio etc etc.
Then batterys nimh, or lipo/li-on,li-fepo and you need a charger to charge what you have?

I will easily recomend the novak "goat" sytem from Novak, you can run 6-7 cell nimh and 2s lipo and it will have incredible torque and great wheelspeed, as for the low end it's on par with the best lathe motors out there, i am really am sold on this combo for this particular rig, servo wise go with the hitec 5995tg or the new model, not usre if it's been replaced, if you need an inexpensive alternative go with the tower pro 946, you can get thme fro run2jeepn on this forum.

As far as esc go, i just got a Tekin FX-R. Love it! Tiny, can run 2cell lipos and great drag brake.

The Tekin can run 3S lipo batteries if you use at least a 35 turn motor. Which is what I have now with a 3S 5000 mah MaxAmps lipo and it's hysterical to drive! Awesome combo.

But yeah, there is a kit supplied motor, and it lacks a little in the slow control. But it works fine for the most part.

If you're going to use the servo saver still, just use a cheap servo. If you're going to get for real, read up some more about the popular servos. They can cost just over $100, and there's a few different types. JR, Hitec and Hobbico, and Aitronics.
