Default Aluminum center skid plate

Hi all,

I just got my CR01 kit and am thinking about getting some aluminum parts for the FJ. Would any body recommend aluminum center skid plate such as the ones from ST Racing or 3racing? Personally I like the one from ST racing because it looks like it's a bit lighter than the 3racing one; but is it structurally sound with all the cut out? Has anyone used it, if you have, could you please let me know what you think of it? Thanks a lot guys.

alum skid? why?
take a poece of alum and slide it on a rock. then take a piece of plastic and slide it. which is slicker?

Only get the aluminum one if you plan on being on your roof a lot and like showing the bling.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Looks like I won't be needing an aluminum center skid plate. This is my first time building the crawler kit, so I don't really know much about it. I got some teflon chassis film left over from the other car. I think it might work like a charm for gliding over obstacles. Here is the link to the chassis film:
