Default gears went bad

check this out guys thsi is what happedwhen my set screw backed outof my pinion gear when the truck was under water

If the pinion set screw backs out, you loose drive. Looks more like a worn out cheap aluminum pinion?

nope, cant say thats ever happened on my CR-01 im gonna have to go with the last post "poorly made pinion"

i would agree - badly made, or cheaply made.

Are you using the standard TAMIYA 20T pinion??

those tamiya pinions are to soft a material and wear easily.

Get a good quality pinion from Robinson Racing here is the link to a 20, but they have many others http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXEX43&P=7

make sure you use 48p metric,,not standard,,i ran into a problem a while back with the wrong pitch,,standard will work for a while ,,very noisy,,

i think it 32p metric anyway got new one stock one for it

the link I posted above is the correct metric pitch gears from Robinson. They also fit most Tamiya touring cars and such so they shouldbn't be a problem to find.
