Yes krapulax, with the standard suspension setup the rear wheels grab the fenders, but with the shortened wheelbase no more....
This is the current setup:

No more torque twist AFTER installed spring in the dampers!

Obviously a shorter wheelbase isn't the best mod if you want increase climbing capacity of your rig, but is much more scaler....:-P

I also tried the overall look with 1.9" wheels and tires and I like it very well!!

Wow it looks awesome with that dropped stance! And your paintjob is excellent. Nice work!

Nice looking rig with the 1.9" on.
Did you loose much riding height under the axles with those 1.9"

did moving the tranny and motor plate up affect it in any way other than shortening the wheelbase? looks like the driveshaft angle is pretty steep.....great looking rig by the way!

Why would moving the transmission change the wheelbase? I would have thought changing the links' lengths will do that.

You can move the tranny forward without changing the links at all .. I've done it before but found the motor blocks some of the mounting holes for the links so you lose some adjustability also it would work good for going up short ledges and the like but would tip over backwards when things got too steep.

Daigoro what sort of width do you get across the axles with the 1.9's .. rim to rim?

That in itself is not going to change the wheelbase, that's what I hinted.

Put a piece of string in a straight line on the table then grab it by the middle and pull it up, what happens?

Thanks all for interesting!
Yes Tricky, you're right, but I needed ho short the wheelbase A LOT instead of center the rear wheels with the body fenders... So i'd lift up the tranny AND short the links.
SNPY, I've not a set of 1.9 now for measuring, but it's coming!! Be patient and you'll have the width!

IDnewcrwlr, shafts are steep, but in the first photo the dampers in droop setup aren't yet in their position!!

Anycase, the work is still in progress: more news in the future!!!
In searching of the ultimate setup.....

True, but that's not a good analogy to what is pictured above. In the picture it looks like all that has been changed is that the tranny is just pulled higher relative to the frame rails, (which is not going in itself to change anything in the suspension. Mind you, with certain settings of the suspension, there will be next to no change of the wheelbase between fully compressed suspension and fully extended). To line up the rear wheels to the wheelarch you need serious wheelbase shortening, about 4cm of it and that's not achievable by only moving the transmission no matter where.

Ahhh .. you meant moving it up into the chassis rails more? and using different side plates yeah?

It is clear from the pictures above that's what he did, but I don't think he did it to increase wheelbase because this will not happen (probably marginally you can gain or lose something but not any more than 1cm per axle and that only when you raise the suspension not when you droop it which is what he did. When you droop the suspnesion the opposite happens, you lengthen the wheelbase).

Yeah I didn't notice that when I looked at the pics .. but he hasn't lengthened the wheelbase anyway he's shortened it to make it look more scale.

Just add some others mods.
Now I'd found my personal ultimate scale-setup for this chassis:

Custom sideplates and skidplate:

Actually the final version is with rc4wd oem white 1.55" wheels and tyres for more scale-looking.
Here a little vid:

Enjoy!

It's a damn shame that the CR-01 axles are so wide, 'cause with narrower axles you'd have a really scale looking truck! I actually think it looks better with the 1.9s because they APPEAR to be tucked in closer to the body. I'm sure the overall width is no different.

Anyway, you've done as nice of a job with this truck as I've seen!

Edit - Are you using the stock kit springs, plus springs in the dampers to help compress the suspension? In the first pictures you were running full droop, and then in later pictures you'd added suspension springs plus apparently damper springs, but made no mention of what you were using.

Yessir, exactly: stock spring (slightly cutted) plus springs in the dampers
Thanks for appreciation
