Default My TJ CR-01

The old Toyota body just wasn't what I was looking for so I modded my CR-01 to run a TJ body. I dumped the cantilevers and stretched the wheelbase about an inch using AX-10 parts. The front driveshaft was too short so it was replaced by one of my AX-10 ones (the AX-10 got MIPs), The look is based on my old TJ.

CR-01 version

The bumpers just didn't look right using the existing front mount and there was no rear bumper mount so I made some new ones from 4mm and 2mm carbon fiber. I have the buckets for LED headlights installed but haven't put the LEDs themselves in yet. Maybe this weekend.

Future plans call for a scale snorkle (does anyone make one?), lights on the bumper, fabbed side bars like the original, and a spare tire carrier of some sort. Maybe some tires with a more scale look too.

The current springs have it riding a little high. I may try some of the short-barrel ones. Also, ignore the Losi shocks on front and stock on rear. I forgot to change the rear shocks.

Nice!

Look into the Pro-line rock sliders for your side rails. I've seen them used on the CR-01 on someones rig here.

The rock sliders aren't the look I'm going for. I want them to look more like what I had on the 1:1 TJ. I'll probably fab some from brass.

Looks like the proline bumpers went on with too much of a hitch... haha

If you wanted to really make it exactly like your 1:1, you should get a set of these: http://www.imexrc.com/servlet/the-28...-T-TIRE/Detail

Could get some RAM lights to mount on the bumper and make some covers, and I think you could put Prolines rock sliders on it, you would get that aspect pretty exact. It would be hard to see the difference with some creative camera work. Very awesome, good job.

Rigs look good!

You need some of these stickers for your 1:1.

My Tj is long gone now. I sold it due to problems with my back. I had the old school round AZVJC stickers on it. I've been a member almost since the beginning of the cluband I'm actually a moderator on the forum although I'm rarely on there any more. My only Jeep now is a Liberty we use for towing our camper. I miss the old TJ. That's why I built this one.

There's your answer.

Proline does make optional mounts for the bumpers but they are designed to work with the AX-10. No good for me.

Quick update. I finished the LED headlights and changed to wheels and tires. It is now sporting the clear RC4WD beadlocks and Rok Lox tires. I also added a radiator behind the grill to close that area off.
