Default My CR-01 Rubi

I've had this thing since last summer, but it was parked for most of the winter because my favorite scaling trails were under 6 feet of snow. Some of the lower elevation trails have recently become snow-free however, so here are some pics from yesterday's run!

Actually not too long. The picture of the truck in the stream was taken after the pic of the truck in the mud. That's the great thing about moving water.

It was still dirty when it got home though, so I blasted it with the garden hose and then dried it off w/ the air compressor.

I got them from my local hobby shop. They're the fancy aluminum upgrade steering links for a Traxxas Rustler, part number 2336X.

Default Nice Jeep

Talk about getting dirty. I love getting mine muddy, but I can't stand the clean up process.

Nice truck... love the tow hooks. The "bolts" on the fender flares, are they small real bolts? or are they decals? they look like real bolts....

Ya, it's wicked fun to get them dirty, but it does suck to clean them. Luckily the stream was right there, so it wasn't too terribly muddy when I got home, but I did still have to blast the thing with the garden hose later. That was more because of the moss and such that got stuck in random places than because of the mud though. The stream got almost all of the mud off.

Thanks man. The bolts are actual bolts. I just punched little holes in the body with my exacto knife and threaded in the shortest 2mm screws I could find.

Whoa! That is one way to get a complete mud bath for your truck.

I like the way your rig looks. Are those shocks part of the Tamiya TNX dual shock set?

I'll measure them sometime and see. I think one set might be different, but I'm not sure.

Thanks man! They're the bypass shocks from Pro-Line's Powerstroke shock setup that was discontinued a few years ago.

Well I took the truck out again today and got some more pics. The lake had risen a bunch, so my mudding area was under water. :( Oh well, I still had fun on the rocks and in the stream, though I ended up breaking the front bumper off the truck, and I broke a front axle. Considering I was full-throttle while playing in the stream, the broken axle doesn't surprise me, but the bumper getting ripped off was a little annoying. It has seen lots of abuse, but I was still annoyed with that. Anyways, I still had a great time today...onto the pics!

I was playing around in the stream at full throttle and I guess it found traction all of sudden. I don't think the stock motor would have broken it, but I have a 3200 Kv BL motor in it so there was a lot of torque there.

And it was the front driver side axle. It just sheared off the pin that keys the bone to the stub axle. When I get around to pulling it apart I'll post a pic.
