| cr-01 or scx10?
Hey Guys, I've decided to get myself an early christmas present. It will either be a cr-01 (land cruiser shell) or an scx-10. Looking for a good trail rig, just not sure which way to go. Cheers, Mike |

To me it's absolutely a no brainer, get the SCX10. The kits are incredible and they actually perform. I'm a big Tamiya fan but it just doesn't come close to the SCX10,

Having owned and sold both I would go back with CR-01. I found it much more fun to drive than SCX-10 .

I love my CR01 for the cool and different factor, but if I were to pick just one it would be the SCX10 all the way. Actually going to be picking up another one once my finances stabilize a little more.

Thanks for the input guys. The scx10 is definiately a great truck. I've already got a highly modified ax10 for crawling. Loved tamiya stuff since I was a kid, so it's still a toss up. That new trail honcho looks sweet though. Maybe I'll pick a cr01 land cruiser now and a honcho later (if you can't pick one, get both!). Cheers |

The aftermarket is so much bigger for an scx10 than a CR-01. That's why my next purchase is going to be an scx10 to go with my CR-01 I already have. |

I've had both. The CR-01 stuck around for about a month and I drove it maybe 4 times. I currently have 3 SCX-10's with plans for 1-2 more.

IMO SCX10 is the way to go if your building a scale rig.

Besides, the SCX10 is way cheaper and holds it's value way better. If you buy a CR-01 buy it used, you can get them for CHEAP!

I think we might need a poll counter set up for this one. |

Ok, Ok, you guys have convinced me on the scx10. Now the decision is to either get the regular kit or the trail honcho! |

| the "CF-100" body is just a turd. i've got one and it's literally never crossed my mind to spray the shell and mount it up. get the honcho. looks like it comes with all hex hardware, a spare tire, and plenty of light buckets.

| Indeed. Skip the CF-100, the front of that body feel like its molded from plastic wrap, you can almost poke your finger through it

The thing I do not like about the SCX10 are the 10 foot wide axles. There are only hand hand full of bodies that look scale when mounted on a SCX10 chassis and they are all 1/8 HPI lids. If Axial would just make a scale set of axles, they would have the best scale kit on the market. Now if you put TLT or Highlift axles under a SCX chassis, you have a 10x more realistic truck.
