Default Crawling Virgin...

Hey guys... new to the Crawler world, have been in and out of all things r/c for a while, and aquired this little baby from a mate...

It has a few after market bits on it...
Aluminium main chassis plates
xspeed drive shafts (which I've damaged a few times)
Novak Goat brushless esc
35turn brushless motor
and also had the diffs locked...

that's about it I think...
when I got it I thought it was the ducks nuts... and in the last few days I"ve started to fiddle a bit...
I removed the cantilever system, lengthened the wheelbase by about 20mm (now it's 300mm) and played around with spring and link assembly to gain more travel... seems to be workin out alright so far...

oh... and I wacked a servo on the rear axel to make it four wheel steer... and now it turns a little better too...

Arrggg... I can't attach any pics... what's goin on..? have to do it from a URL..? why..?

Righto... paid some cash, now I can share some pics...

first is how recieved it...

then I started to play around a bit, I would like the body to sit lower, but then it just scrubs real bad... it still does now with it lifted...

And now I'm fitting the Kyosho 1/9th Four Runner body... It looks like a better scale fit I recon... even though I like the FJ40 body better... That's the funny thing about the CR01... it's sorta semi scale semi crawler... gotta say I like the full on scale stuff better...

anyway... here it is so far... tell me what you guys think... what else should or shouldn't I be doing..?

Leave the four runner body on it, it looks really nice and actually very scale, I like it!

Trying to make some accessories now, snorkel and some decent front and rear bars too...
