Default has anyone put an emaxx tranny in a tlt

I'm looking to get a tlt, when I do I may part out the emaxx. I'm wondering if my emaxx tranny will work well in a tlt. It will be in a custom chassis, so I should be able to find a way to make it fit.

I know someone has, I've seen it before. The E-maxx trans is huge and way overkill for a TLT though, you're better off with a Stampede trans.

yes I did put a sport maxx trans in my TLT, You will never blow the gears, which is good, but it is 3 1/2 inches deep from front to back. You will either have to run really short drive shafts, or streach your W/B out to around 13 to 14 inches.

I have an E Maxx trans in mine. It holds up great! Takes a beating and i have not had a problem with the driveshatfs or gears. The only thing I do not like about it, it puts your cog way high! Thats about it. Search for hummer you should see mine.

i love my E tranny except for a couple things: 1 the motor sits way up high which screws up your cog, and 2 the output gears are so huge the trans hangs down almost a half inch below the side plates. you could cure both of these by mounting the tranny on its side, but that puts the motor plate right where your links want to mount up.

if you mount the tranny right side up, you'll need to make the chassis 1/4 inch wider, or slot the side plates to accept the mounting flanges.

on the plus side, the tranny is about indestructible and the 2-speed is great. i can't think of any situation where you'd hurt the trans on 6 cells.

Its got two speeds, so in that respect it could.

I've seen a few emaxx trannied rigs, but if you're running dual motors with rock buster drive axles you'll snap them, so upgrade to maxx climber axles and you shouldn't have a problem.

Yeah, they are only different right at the end, where the dog bone end is, they are a little thicker. That's where people snap them, and I believe if you order a new set of axles from tamiya they ship the climber axles instead of the buster axles.
