Default softer springs

is there a way to soften a set of springs

i redid the suspension on my tlt and got rid of the cantilever setup
in its place i used 4 of my old tmaxx shocks and link mounted them but they are really stiff

is it possible to heat the spring and not loose the length or would i be better off finding a new set of softer than stock springs

Just buy new springs. They don't cost much.

if you heat the spring you will ruin it. that's the way that backyard bozo 'mechanics' lower their cars and trucks. new springs for r/c shocks are cheap.

only problem i have found is that i can't find any that was softer than the stock tmaxx
i think i might have fixed it though
i did have the shock mounted in the original cantilever hole so i moved it back to the hole that is closer to the motor that mounts the plastic shelves
havign it at the angle seems to soften up the shock just enough that it won't lean during acceleration

I think AE and Losi springs fit maxx shocks. Go to an LHS if you have one close by, they should let you take a set of springs out to test fit them on your shocks.

You proably wont find anything softer for a maxx, but you will for other vehicles. I've heard that losi yellow or white springs are good for smaller crawlers

Yea the Losi 2.75" white spring is what you want. It's for the rear shocks of their stadium trucks. I went a bit furthur and replaced my Hot Bodies shocks (Maxx shocks) with Associated T4 factory team threaded shocks. They're a bit smoother and I could go a little lighter on the spring. Found a good deal on em on ebay.
