Default tlt 10

forgot to ask where is a good way to mount the shocks on axles and do you run them straight up or at an angle? and why?

thanks

if you lay the shocks down, you will get more travel at the wheel.

if you feel like experimenting, try laying down your shocks even more. maybe move the upper mount another inch towards the middle. i think you will be surprised with the increase in suspension travel.

Default shocks

ill try that but the farther you lay them down the stiffer the spring rate becomes i beleive.

It's the other way around, the more you lay the shock down the softer it gets. It also yeilds more travel.

Nice rig BTW.

No the more you lay the shocks down the softer they become as the suspention moves through its arc.

Default layed down shocks

yea i had it backwards you want to avoid that in 1/10 truck racing cause it makes em bottem out real bad, but wouldnt that be a bad thing to loose spring rate as you get close to full articulation wouldnt it make you loose traction as oppiset tire unloads from truck rebounding.

think about it this way, if everyone is doing it, it can't be all that bad and wrong

flip the shock around so the shaft end is at the axle, and the body is by the chassis.

Ya, I was going to say.... Your shocks are on upside down. not sure about these RC shocks, but real shocks don't work as well as that way.

you can see here how i cut the chassis out for the fitment of the tranny theres a big hole to fit this side in also you can see how i had to move the links all the way out to clear the sliders

http://www.rcpics.net/view_single.php?medid=58466

here you just widen out the hole but you can see all the holes i had to drill because its so close you have to really be creative to make everything clear.
its not easy but iam only using the stock chassis to make everything work then iam gonna cut a new chassis out of carbon fiber. hope this helps. also you have to flip the links to make everything clear the uppers that are mounted inside chassis plates need to be on bottum to fit.

You can try using a long screw and use the same mount as the upper link on the outside and that will get the shock above the link and maybe cure the bind. It will also move the shock foward and give you more laydown in turn.
