Exclamation Custom chassis questions

Ok question what thickness do you people recomend on a crawler??
I have this sheet to Ti dunno what grade, its gotta be atleast aircraft grade since I gyped it off of boeing. Its 3mm thick sorta gross Ill have to look into finishing techniques, has a poudery residue Im sure some 600 will clean it up. Any suggestions?? Is it thick enough??

As well how wide do you all run the plates apart? Stocl tlt width or just wide enough to slip a stick pack in?? or flush to the upper and lower pede mounts???

Sorry to start a new thread but seems no one looks at older threads for this sorta thing.

Stock Tamiya TLT chassis side plates are like 1.5mm thick. Bulu chassis are 3mm thick. Not sure if that helps...

3mm thick or 1/8" (same thing) is going to be plenty beefy for your needs. As for width, 2" is good, and allows you to keep your shocks straight up and down if you're using stock mounts on the axle, but, just because others do it, doesn't mean you have to

Question

WOW the bulus are 3mm?? they look alot thicker than that more like 5mm

Okay Ill go for it just hope this titanium cleans up good. Lots fo white muck on one side. I think it was leaning on some alu or other metal at one time electralisys or what not.
Another wuestion I forgot was about axles. I see alot run a 12" WB For me with those 1951 sliders I can get max of a 11.5WB with about oh 1" of male shaft inside at full extension. NOw am I measuring wrong?? From axle centers? Or are people measuring the total length? I know the prototype sat a little high. prolly due to the use of losi shocks or screwy geometry.
sample pic
PS ignore the wonky angles axles its cause I moved the upper links on the prototype chassis.
