Thumbs up TLT-1 wider axles (Blackfoot) are in stock at Tower

Just a public service annoucement from your Uncle Frito!

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LXGG15
These will widen your TLT-1 by 1/2". You'll still have to make some simple spacers or use a bunch of washers but I think this is by far the best (and cheapest) way to moderately widen your rig.

Really? I ordered only about a month ago and just got mine today. Maybe I got moved up the list because a couple weeks back I called em up and gave em hard time about it.

You might wanna give them a call.

Question tg 10 parts fit too

there's also tg10 bits.

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXGM26&P=7

The foot bits look to have a longer yoke. Guess you can shim that and gain width???

Hmm.. The blackfoot axles appear to be almost 1/4" longer than the tg10 axles. Shimming them is easy with a quick trip to Lowe's Hardware for a nylon bushing that fits the axles perfectly.

You probably were put on back order and those who were, got their stuff. The rest of us have to get them on back order, and wait.

lol, those look like the bf axles with alum bits and spacers.
36$ ouch hehe
Yeah the bfs are about that much wider i checked specs. Something I need to consider. Its strange TH still shows it as a in stock item for me even with a clearing of cache. >_>
image is busted too heh ;p

You might be right. I measured the length of the Blackfoot axles exluding the yoke and they're 32mm. However in his auction pic those axles look significantly longer than the Blackkfoot axles. Another indication is the Blackfoot axles would only require a spaceer that's 1/4" long. The spacers in that picture look to be about 1/2". I suspect by 32mm he's saying they're 32mm longer than stock. I guess if you want your axles that much wider this isn't a bad deal considering all the parts you get.

Oh Tower is just being sneaky. Under "In Stock" it says "Limited quantities". In this case it means they have one pair left.

The reason the image doesn't show is Tower doesn't allow hotlinking of their images.

Well I just went through that guy's ebay store and it looks like he has a whole range of sizes from 8mm longer which is about what the Blackfoot axles are all the way up to 32mm longer.

He's in Tokyo but his feedback looks pretty good. Rather than wait for Tower you might want to give him a shot. I would if I still needed axles.

Actually sounds like a good reason NOT do do it yourself!

The axles are in. I just need to cut my spacers to length but I haven't had time. I have no reason to suspect they'll give me any trouble. I suppose using a mess of washers instead of the nylon spacer would save me some time but it seems a bit ghetto to me. I'll post a couple pics when I'm done.
