Default VMG help....

Hey everyone, I finally just bought a couple of these little trucks... Pretty darn cool. I extended one, I bought a Dodge Dakota body for one and I got the new motor. I got 2 of em, And enough in parts to build 2 more. A couple friends and I are building a crawling track for them in my basement. One ? I had was. They are all building theres to there own ways and stuff. I was wondering, Is there and after market Tire and rim for these trucks? Bigger ones?? Would TLT rims work some how?? Adapters or whatever. I got the benefit of all the help from you guys, So I hope I can throw together a good little crawler

You can get 1/10 wheel hexes and drill the axel for the pin, then you can run any wheel and tire combo with a 12mm hex

So, I could run stock TLT Tires on it?? I would think 2.2's might be too big??

Go with 2.2 buggy tires. With a gear reduction, you should be ok. I can't say if the gears will hold up or not.

Why not try something new? How about making a smaller Crawler? Narrowing the axles so you can use the stock tires. Just a thought

I ran my vmg with 2.2 dirt hawgs, gear reduction, and I also had the clicker swaped out. I had no problems what so ever. I ran it for a couple months and no problems.

Get a gear reduction, it will amaze you!

ahh, damb you. you gave away my project idea.

ok back on subject. if you just put 2.2's on there your going to have rubing ishues. what i and my friens did was to take the rim you want to use and drill a 1 1/4" hole in the center. then take you vmg wheel and cut the rear bead off. the vmg rim should slide in snugly. then ajust how wide you want the off set to be and glue it in place.

here is a couple of my rims. both with different offsets.

what do you mean rubbing issues, I can mount my gas truck wheels (HPI meshes and Dirt Hawgs) and not touch anything on the axel.

of course it wont rub on the axle things like links like to get in the way. plus you will have more stability.

well mine would at absolute full lock but I'm going to make my steering system stop before that happens, I'll probably go with TLT tires on mine as well, I was just mocking stuff up with the gas truck rims.
