Default New (to me) TLT Tuber

Bought Ralph's frame from rckjeep.

Will keep him pretty much as rckjeep had him.

Will use the Jugg/TXT tranny for sure, but still undecided on wheels and tires.

Thinking I'll run the set of RPM wheels with the 2.2 swamp dawgs.

I was wondering who bought RALPH. I highly contemplated on buying it myself. Glad to see it went to good hands.

Ya I left the double sided tape on so you could see where I had stuff mounted. Plus it's a pain to remove Enjoy it. Treat him well. I'm glad it went to a good home as well. I spent a lot of time building that thing. Did you see I also put the extra body panels and skid plates in the box?

here's a link to all the build up pics I have
CLick to Ralph get built

Dave,

I already had the large versions of those pics on the ol' hard drive.

I had been studying them so I knew where you'd stuck all the goods. ;)

Building myself a RTI ramp...figure it'll help make Ralph feel at home.

Been pouring over Dave's pics, noticed he was using XTM Mammoth rear shocks. They're 153.5mm eye to eye!

Didn't feel like spending money (Dave got it all! ) for a set of Mammoth shocks so I started rummaging around...

Savage shocks are about the same size (160mm) so I figure with some bump stops installed inside the shock bodies things should work out.

Got the shocks installed (for mock-up right now) tonight as well as lower suspension links. Diffs are locked front and rear, made some changes so I can run the TXT tranny, Traxxas 4951X (beefed T-Maxx half shafts), 4927X (5mm yoke), and 4928X (6mm yoke) parts for driveshafts.

The track width needs to be taken out a bit, and I need to make upper suspension link mounts.

But for now, a couple of shots...

Ralph as he sits now..

top..

Jr thrown in for size reference.

I like the little axles.

I'd like to see beefier shafts in them, though.

That and a better alternative to upper link mounts.

Might have to make a couple of Hulk style link mounts for this one.

I like the way the all-t's look on that. Like you said, widen it a little and you're golden!

Yup, the Swamps just wouldn't cut it.

Guess I'd better order up extra axle shafts.

I only broke one and it was the smaller rockbuster shaft. I beat that thing pretty good and that was the only failure.

I haven't done a freakin' thing to Ralph today except order up some of the deep HPI wheels rckjeep used.

About to head to garage and make some link mounts.

Wish me luck.

Do you have a part number for them? I am going to need some wheels for the new tires I should be getting today. And I need something with a more offset wheel.

What month and page is this in and on? I looked at the August rag, and didn't see it. The LHS that I go to is looking at building a rock course since I started coming in there and showing them the different rigs that I have, and there have been a few others talking about it. I was trying to show him this this tuber, but couldn't find it. I did see an article on a comp out somewhere, but this tuber wasn't in it.
