Default RC4WD Copperhead chassis

I had the chance to build up an RC4WD Copperhead chassis. Here are some of the details.

TLT Axles w/fat rock C's and CVD's in the front.
MSD wideners
RC4WD punisher shafts
Delrin Links
Paul's EZ's rear axle truss
Traxxas big bore shocks
RC4WD R2 Dig tranny
Holmes Hobby Crawlmaster
Quark 33 Pro car ESC
(2) Tower Pro 945 servo's.
Some old school RD400 beadlocks and Losi Claws

Got the chassis and built it up. Very nice work on this one. The Powder Coat is perfect. The R2 went in without any problems. Links and shocks mounted up great. Adding the extra shock mounts was a good idea. Really liked the body panels that came with it. I added a little flair to mine.

As I said, everything went together really well. Had a small issue with the nuts for the dig servo being to large. Small amount of time with the dremel and the servo went in perfect. I e-mailed RC4WD and they said they would look into it. The nuts outside diameter is too big.

I would have to say that RC4WD is doing a better job at getting things right. This chassis is proof of that.

Here are a few shots I took.

Used the lathe motor for mock up. I was going to put a Holmes Hobbies Cobalt puller in this, but it doesn't fit. Lathe motor and other brushless motors will.

Here is the tranny and servo mounted in.

On to the next post.

Got the links made and installed. Not much need for those photo's. It was smooth sailing for the link mount up.

Sprung rear.

Droop front.

Shoots on the rocks.

On the rocks the chassis did very well. Down off rocks seemed very simple, up over some breakovers was a bit of an issue. I am going to work on the set-up a little. The lower bottom plate helps, but hurts a little too.

I still need to find a good spot for my battery. I will probably build a pack for the front axle. My Lipo didn't fit anywhere good, so for testing I sit it beside the R2.

Looks real good. Does the front edge of the bottom skid plate get hung up?

Racer4life,

Did you use the stock links or make your own?

Edit: Noticed in your first post....Delrin links, woops

I'm having issues with lack of movement and trouble with lengths with the stock links

How are those Punisher shafts? I have heard some people on here complain about them.

I love the Punisher Shafts. They are pricey and not for everyone. I have 4 sets and none have broken. One of the old sets have some slop, but the new ones seem to be holding up really well.

Thanks
I have to agree with Racer on the punisher shafts. I have 1 set that have been swapped around on a couple different rigs and I love them, you just can't get too extreme an angle with them or they lope. Another hint for people using them with TLT axles, grind about 1/16-1/8 inch off the end that you are attaching to your axle, the set screw will grab you axle pinion gear shaft alot better.
