| MY TLT Rubicon Build. New Pics Added
Well Sorry it is a double post but I cant rename the old post for some reason. But here it is the official build page for my new Crawler. I have TLT axles, Chassis is in prototype / mock up form for carbon fiber work, RC10T tranny (Locked), Threaded Rod for the links, some Du-Bro heavy duty ball ends, Hot Body shocks, RC4WD Rock Crushers, Axial bead-locks, and a wrangler body. So far I only took pics of the axles with wheels attached and body resting. I am going to work on it some more at work tomorrow and hopefully get a rolling chassis by Monday. Then I can get the chassis plates to the C-F guy and have them made up. Along with the links. Should be pretty interesting. But I will keep you up to date. Um. OK so there was some big delays with the chassis. Here is a pic of it before I drilled the holes in it I hope to get it tomorrow. I also had some tranny issues. I tried a really cheesy way of locking the RC10T Chassis. Just tighten the poop out of it and it wont spin. Yea that didn't work. So I went ahead and did this. I ground down 2 grooves 180 degrees from one another. Then removed 2 of the balls from the diff at the groove location. And then took some C-pins and tapped them into the grooves and bearing holes. Walla. Totally locked up. Then my other dilemma was how to get the T-Maxx shafts to fit on to the Dog Bone cups. Well I drilled out the center of the u joint carrier to one size smaller of the ball cup. Then Jammed the carrier over the ball cups. Making sure to keep the set screw holes aligned with the Dog Bone Slit. Then I took a Set screw and torqued it in there. Those puppies aren't moving for nothing. Here is a visual. Here you can see the pin in the cup. Just enough clearance for the spur. Just an over all of the tranny. Well that is all for now. Sorry if the pics are a little blurry. They are from my phone. More pics and updates once it is being built. Later, Brandon |

Yea they are a bit big but I like em. They are the biggest that a real Jeep would have. They measure 44" in 1/8th scale. As for the lockers. I wouldn't spend money on this Trans. I have had it since 1990. So it really isn't worth much. I will just get an axial or Stampede if it blows up on me. Thanks though. Later, Brandon |

Thanks for the compliments. I have made huge progress on the truck. I took pics last night and I will post em up tomorrow when I get back home. This thing works great. It is however a little top heavy. But all in all very happy with it. I will get some real experience with it hopefully tomorrow if the weather holds out. Later, Brandon |

Well here are the finished pics. You can see all the pics here: http://s58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...bicon/?start=0 Hope you like it. It performs really well. But it is a little too top heavy. Have to figure out a better battery location. I think I may split it up to keep it nice and low. Later, Brandon |

They are just the stock TMAXX Springs with I believe the cheap Hot Bodies aluminum shocks. I got them for free from a friend back when I was running my TMAXX. Later, Brandon |

If it weren't for those RC4WD tires, I would think that it was a rig built 4 years ago. Classic
