OK when searching for the blackfoot wideners I found a couple differnt ones, or would they all be basicly the same.
The ones I found on the Tamiya site says TG10 - MA12 Part#50823
And at Tower I fount Tamiya Wheel Bag 58110 they are 1 11/16" long.

If anyone has a direct link to the ones I should be getting can you post it.
Thanks

dieselfuel 08-25-2006 11:49 AM

yeah i'd like to locate a set of blackfoot stubs myself..

superelmer 08-25-2006 12:24 PM

i ordered the tower part #58110. works fine....

Double J 08-25-2006 03:30 PM

so it is the TG10 ones then? or is the TG10 the same as the TLT kits?

Double J 08-25-2006 03:49 PM

I have another question. Has anyone used the associated 3/16 axle stubs.
See here http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXCCZ6&P=7

They are 1.70" (43.2mm) long with a diamater of 3/16" (?? 4 or 5mm or somewhere in there, maybe 4.5mm).

Double J 08-25-2006 07:54 PM

FYI... The above axle stubs work great and are easier to obtain than the black foot. Only problem is you have to do a couple simple mods to it.

1. bor the plastic hex nut with a 3/16" bit.
2. shaved a little off the dog bone end. only like 1/16".
3. Optional.. bor out the center where the dog bon goes. The ones on the tlt are just a smidge larger.
4. I had to use a brad nail that just fit, cut to size for the pin that holds the hex on with.

The nyloc screw has plenty of thread for it.
I'm using pede rears on it with moabs. refer to dilatory build.

I'll get pics on Monday.

I am using them as well. Adds .5 inch total

DoubleJ:
How much wider did the AE shafts make your truck?

didn't measure it. But I was happy to have enough thread to put the nyloc's on with. If I had to guess I would say about .5" or around there somewhere. I'll measure later tonight.

Edit - Sorry for not updating this earlier but looks like it didn't matter. I measured the axles from one end of the stub to the other end. It is in fact just about 1/2 longer than stock. It's not much but it works.. Hope this helps.

Hi All

I also need some widners and was planning the tg10 route however I have come across another part for the tg10 that might be wider still ....Tamiya part 50823 is the standard however TG10 Long Wheel Axle - 50808 are 38.1mm could someone please advise would these work as I was hoping to get more than the extra 1/2 inch from the 50823 ones

We now offer aluminum hex-drive 12-12mm wheel spacers for the TLT. These are designed to fit right over the stock drive hex, and provide 3/4" offset per side. Due to different offsets on the numerous 2.2 sized wheels available, your overall vehicle width may differ. Expect to see an overall width between 11-12", well under the legal limit for the 2.2 crawler class.

widener tobee 36 mm

small question:
but the widener tobee from 36 milimeter increases the track
of 36 for part or 36 milimeter in total dx+sx?

But is it enough? ATM I only have one thread with my pede wheels on stock TLT axles.

ALso if I use the TG-10 stub axles (Tamiya # 50808 ) will I be able to get the wheel nut on all the way or most of the way?

None of my lhs carry **** for Tamiya parts...but they'll sell ya a Clod or TLT.

ANswer my own question to help others here, now that I have a complete set of the three different axles and the wheel hexes. # 50808 gets the nut on all the way with the pede wheels and Tamiya or Traxxas wheel hexes. The Super Blackfoot axles # 58110 get the nut on just barely into the nylock part of the nut with Tamiya or Traxxas wheel hex. The TC3 graphite wheel hexes #3949 need to be drilled out, but even so the axle pin is larger diameter and doesn't fit down into the groove on the backside of the hex properly. I see no way to properly widen and deepen the groove in these without a mill....anybody?

BlueMonster 01-09-2007 01:40 AM

I am running the Crawford wideners and I like them just fine. Nice machinework, work great.

gopher 01-09-2007 08:53 AM

question tho... the chart says 12mm-30mm even bigger i've noticed tobee has (40 or 48mm?!)

anyhow... is that overall length? or just one side?

so would a set of 12mm increase 12mm overall, or 24mm? my assumption is 12mm

lonwlf 01-16-2007 07:39 PM

If a shop could design a new metal knuckle with the wideners built in it would be better since you could get 2 upgrades at once.If they already have these and I just haven't seen them then sorry for the idea.

mascman 02-08-2007 05:35 PM

I'm using the Associated ones that DoubleJ mentioned above.

If I had to do it again, I'd either order a kit or use the Blackfoot ones.

I drilled into the dogbones because the axle ends don't go in far enough. I also took the dremel to the end of the axles because my drill bit bites!

Now, I either have to drill out the hole for the hex pin or find something like the nail that DoubleJ found.

Pretty much would be done with the axles if i didn't have to dick with these ASSociated stubs!
