| Carbon chasis TLT Crawler
I wanted to stretch my TLT crawler out a bit more recently to fit some more bodys. And I didn't really want to make new links. And on Friday night I dropped my Parma bus body on the TLT and it looked really good, but the wheel base was to short. On Thursdy night I finished up the new chassis for my Jugg crawler and finished all the links and other little parts. The reason I made a new chassis for the Jugg was because the first one was not molded as clean as I would have liked. And I used it as a mock up chassis, to make sure it would work. So I had the spare chassis piece. I ended up cutting it down a little shorter. And then drilled new holes for the links on both sides. Mounted the tranny towards the rear. Once both axles were bolted in place along with the tranny. I fitted the battery and marked where it needed to be cut. I did one side first and then the other. I ended up cutting it a little lower then I wanted. So I had to shave 4mm off the back of the tranny, but it was not structual at all. I then mounted the shock towers on and measured out the body posts. The truck performed very well yesterday. The weight is lower then my last setup. And the ground clearance is still pretty good. And if I needed more I could easily raise the truck up. The body isn't the best for performance, but its a fun body to run on a crawler like this :-P |

NICE! I wanted to get that parma bus body for the longest time. Didn't know what to put it on. It ended up being too narrow, and too long for two projects. Then I finally went to buy it, and it had sold out from my LHS. They had had the dang thing for years. Its a pretty sweet setup though.

Thanks guys :-p Just noticed that I didn't have a good picture fron the top showing the hood of the bus. I had my sister paint a skull on it. |

Nice chassis, is that solid carbon fiber or is there some fiberglass in the middle?

Its solid carbon. Its a underside shot of my Juggernaut setup. Its a once piece design, and plenty thick and strong enough to take the abuse of the rocks.
