| Longer TLT dogbones.... ?
Does anyone use dogbones on their stretched TLT? I know that the sliders are much better, BUT I want dogbones... this time. I actually need to find some that are 115mm.... do you know of any? I found some that are 102mm and 128mm, BUT nothing in between. I just received the 102mm ones in the mail AND the end balls where too big, and obviously not long enough. It really sucks cause I searched for a long time AND I was sure these would work. ANYWAYS... got any info?? |

i have seen people extend the stock drive shafts but cutting them in half and using roll pins to reconnect them alot of the problems i have been seeing with dogbones are they will fall out in an extremely flexxy suspension becuase they do not extend out far enough when the suspension is at full droop and just fall out of the drive cups |

I use the hpi mt dogbones, can't remember how long though. My wheelbase is right at 12 inches. I set my shocks to limit droop so my dogbones don't fall out. But I would love to get some sliders cuz the drive cups don't like dogbones(wears them out). Kevin |

I run dogbones. I went ahead and made my own instead of buying some. First, get some 1/8th inch solid rod, and cut that to the length you want it. Then, Cut two holes in the ends that go through the rod. I went ahead and cut the drill bit into two pieces that were about 1/2 an inch long or so. I stuck the drill bit into the hole, and silver soldered it togetther. I havnt had any problems with it. Just remeber, you have to get it at the perfect length, or it will fall out. Oh yeah, I just extended a stock dogbone, I'll get some pics of that tonight. I just cut 3/16th inch solid rod and drilled to holes in it ( down into it, like drilling a link) I am now going to silver solder the ends on, and it should work. thanx for the replies.. Does that silver solder hold that good?? I will most likely make my own shafts.... but I guess my concern would be the amount of torque put on the shafts. I am also considering using the Revo shafts and sliding them over the ends of the the TLT cups..... I've seen some pics of people doing that. BUT does it actually work good? It just seems like too much is going on with that set up.. :? |

i cut my stock ones and pressed them into aluminum rod they look really good and their very true im thinking of custome making them (ill tapper the shat all the way into the cupler so it looks really uniform next time) http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/shimmy...df.jpg&.src=ph |
