Default Skid plate attatchment

I am getting my first crawler in a few days and will need a way of atatching a skid to the stock chassis plates. does anyone have any pics or directions on how to attatch one? i have aluminum to make one but just need some "guide lines".

thanks
harris

BTW what types of u-joints should i use to attatch the sliders to the axles. should i use the style with two grub screws or the new style with a long pin that goes through.

i've found that servo mounts make nice skid-plate brackets. take a look at em and you'll see how to make em work. the downside is that you have a screw pokin thru your skid plate, which can snag on rocks.

another way is to wrap the skid up around the sides of the chassis and attach em there.

i think that would be the best way, have the sides come up about 1/2" and drill a few holes for the screws.
