Default Bruiser Axle Question

i picked up a complete bruiser front axle. i turned the output shaft/pinion before i took it apart and it spun just fine. i saw that the pinion shaft had the old bronze bushings on them so i took it apart and put bearings in(5x11.) now i'll be damned if it won't go back together without binding. i even put the bronze bushings back and it still binds. not a lot of parts on these axles, so i'm 99.9% sure that i am not forgetting anything. any help is greatly appreciated!

Do the case halfs close tightly? There really isnt much that can make it bind except maybe a stuck bearing or a bent axle.

Try pulling out your driveshaft pinion gear and resetting it ...maybe its not sitting right

Honestly, there isnt much that can go wrong when assembling the frt cases

the cases are not fitting tightly. i've checked and double checked for the pinion being set correctly, and the axle is straight as an arrow. and i agree with you, there is not much that can go wrong with assembling those axles and it's driving me crazy!

assemble the halfs without the bearings..if it fits, then its your bearings, If it doesnt, its either your gear or axle

the case halves close completely with the axle and bearings only. so something is going on with the pinion. the pinion doesn't mesh properly with the ring gear using bearings or the original bushings. something is fuct!
