Question TLT axel issues, replace or go Axial axel?

Ok this might be in the wrong forum, been some time since I was here.
I just rebuilt my Crawler with a new chassis and been fooling around and just relised I snapped off one of the arms on the C-hubs for my rear axel. I am seeing a lot of you running metal hubs. I would ahve gone this route but had no issues with them since I originaly built the crawler 3 years ago. NOw I am stuck since it broke far enough down that part of the outter bearing is visable and it looks like it cracked all the way up into the mounting frame for my shocks. Such as it is I do not think these casings are salvageable for crawling anymore, maybe for messing around like a scale rig for running around in the dirt. It would be an excuse to build one

NOW for the question. A quick look shows that I have only the chrome casings to choose from (least the 3 places I checked) at 29$ usd, but I have seen the new Axial axels sets for 45$ usd. Questions are

1 how hard is it to adapt a set of axial axels to a tlt rig? Would the traxxas universals bolt on or will I need to replace my driveshafts etc? Link geometry etc.
2 Would it be cheaper to just go for the gaudy chrome axel then get a set of metal carriers and mod the casing to accept them?

I havent seen a Scorpion or know of any "issues" relating to the stock axels. Gonna go brows the forums for that vehicle. But figured I would field the questions first to get opinions. I really do not have any money for either solution but with the nice weather I will resort to selling another car or something to get my crawler working.

Oh bit of info on the crawler to help with answers.
Losi tranny (forget what it is out of) Traxxas universals for drive shafts. Tmaxx shocks custom chassis links and misc junk.

And yeah I prolly should lurk more. Any help/opinions will be appreciated

With all the aftermarket parts to bullet proof TLT axles you don't necessarily need to switch to Axial axles.

I'm running TLT axles with.

RCP high turning radius knuckles
TCS clocked Cs (with MNsters bearing mod to eliminate ware)
MSD ultimate rear axle lock outs
RCP copper alloy ring and pinion
RC4WD stainless rear axle
RCP CVD front axle

Thats a almost unbreakable set up. CVDs need to be lubed with a dry lube to keep them healthy. You can do pretty much do the same thing with AX-10 axles as well they are just a little wider.

Ah yes, that wasnt showing up earlier and that is more in line with what I remembered. $4 is much better than $27~29 for fugly chrome. Only other issue is to see how much all this bulletproofing will cost. Im counting roughly 60$ for front and rear c hub reenforcement. So for now I just need to weigh in the costs and what issues the Axial Axels have. Since if I go axial it means I have a second project car because the TLTs would go into a trail rig project.
Thanks for pointing that place out I went to 4 places and only found those chrome things.

Just so you know, buying the Axial axles will not save you money. They have weaker c's and knuckles which will also need to be upgraded with aluminum. I went alot longer not having to replace anything like that on my TLT axles than the Axial. And there is my .05 worth.

ditto...my dad broke his stock axial knuckles within 20 minutes with a 5645...he has aluminum c, aluminum knuckles, and rc4wd lockers (stock ones wear out FAST) right out of the bag.

IMO fix the TLT's, i still like them better than axials.
