| Connecticut Crawler TLT
This is my newly built TLT crawler. I decided to use the axles from the TLT, along with the link ends. The rest is self built or used from a Rustler I decided to buy brand new. I use the radio, shocks, wheels, slider shafts, and of course the tranny out of the Rustler. The front shocks are shorter than the rear, which is okay because i made the rear links longer to shift the weight more forward. The rear wheels have less offset too, which I am actually pretty impressed with. The difference in width from front to rear seems to allow me to line up tires differently and grab in different places, but is still very stable side to side. The tranny is layed on its side, with a mabuchi 540 in it for now (12 tooth pinion). I might get a lathe motor down the road, but from my little bit of playing around I am pretty pleased with the 540. To top it off I am using the 645 servo from Hitec, Masher 2000s, and the Rock Pleazer body. I am about to go use it in its finished state. I played around before painting some stuff and glueing the tires - and was very impressed with its performance. Gotta go play some more. The 2 pics were in mock up and testing stage, the rest are poser shots I just took. I should get some action shots whenever I get together with some of the other CT guys. |

He said the first few pics are prototype pics.... Cut your body up a little more, try to aim for the picture below. I think you should invest in another pair of stampede fronts though. Have fun, Cya |

well i believe they are narrower in the rear to improve the steering radius.

I like the narrow rears, just different options. The body posts are from some touring car I had, I think, or maybe from a Tamiya mini cooper - not sure. I like the body cut as it is, it gives it that cut look without taking all the lexan off. It works well for what I do, thanks for the compliments.

Those look like HPI Mini rear body posts. Correct me if Im wrong on that one. Nice looking rig - I like the use of brass for the top link mount. I may have to use that myself.

Looks great! You should bring it to the New England get together in CT on the 16th.

Increases turning radius sounds logical. I just thought the Headlights and stuff look a bit queer on that body but if you seem to like them thats all that matters. Cya |

Rockhound, looks like a fun truck! I like the narrower in rear part, TLT axles have an absolutely horrible turning radius when they are locked. Now that you're ready to crawl, let me know when you can get out! I'm in Waterbury.
