i've used 12 and 14-1/2 inch wheelbases on my TLT-ish crawler. i like the longer wb because it shifts more weight forward. it all depends on what you want to build and what you want it to do.

pluss my weight is pretty far forward the stick pack is pretty much resting on the front upper links.. i can crawl up some pretty steep stuff.. i would think 14 in would be quite long...a TXT-1 i think most ppl run like 15 inches of wb but im not sure. i will try to get a vid of mine running in my rock pile in the front yard.

i think 14" wb would be like perfect but if you want to get into really tight spaces you should go shorter

i used Maxx axle shafts, shortened in front, full length rear. Maxx turnbuckle front links, Revo rear lowers, custom uppers, Maxx shocks in front, Savage in back (with limiters to be installed later)

13 is nice, which is what i run right now. Short enough to pick my way through but long enough to climb.

Question wasnt there a thread about this less than a few days ago?? either way most tlts are 11 to 12.5 in 14 would be kind of nuts unless your gonna widen the axles and scale it to the clods or larger trucks? As for the tranny I think I seen a few of the emaxx trannies being run. usualy in dune or mudders. I dont recall any of those running tlt axles however. There are a few tmaxx diff tlts out there. I suppose they some how manage a spur onto a outdrive of the maxx diff. |
