| Tamiya parts for TLT-1
Hi,if you don't already know, the entire drivetrain of the TLT-1 is from a TA-04 chassis. There are many optional aluminum parts;the pulleys and the spur gear mount, and a gear diff.I'm not building a crawler per se,but want to adjust the slip of the center diff.Tamiya also has aluminium rocker links, hubs and gear box. It's a bit of a stretch, but the rear axle from a semi might fit,and has no steering obviously.I'm keeping the stock setup except for some tweeks and the parts I've mentioned in a custom gearbox to center the diff and the motor.Look on the Tamiya website under TLT-1 and TA-04 optional parts, most are available at Tower etc. When you see the body I have for this thing,it's TOO COOL!!

| What's the Diff?
Yo,my post sais a) I'm not building a crawler b) I want to adjust the diff bias, not lock it solid! Thanks for the reply though-Why Tamiya put a ball diff from a road car into a 4x4 truck escapes me,but using the Traxxas slipper pegs in it alows you to lock it or let it act like a slipper since there's none on the spur gear.A little loctight left to dry on the diff rings makes it even harder to slip but not impossible. The gear diff should work better for high/speed and hard surfaces of course, and for me,there's nothing better than more things to wrench on.Sure,if your hell-bent to climb, solid is the way to go.
