Default New built TLT Unimog Updated 7/16

I had a TLT laying around that I had modded a few times and not been happy with
It started out like this with a Datsun Hard body, also had a camper shell on it.

Then I got one of these for my daughter

Then I got one of these. (Extreme Blackfoot tranny)
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXGHK3&P=7
and these Black wheels in a lot that I bought

Then built a chassis and added the axles and the tranny to the truck

Then I finally got my uni in the mail and tore it apart as soon as I got it out of the box, saving the drive train for parts if my daughters takes a dump. Then quickly taking the tires off and mounting them to my Black wheels I had and then getting fitment to the chassis with the Uni body. Check it out

Gonna have to build a tool box or something to cover up the tranny in the center but it's lookin tough already.

Oh, if for some reason you can't see the pics
then go here

It's pretty tall or long depending upon how you look at it. But I don't mind the size because it was a ready -pre-assembled with a motor tranny from Tower for $20. I couldn't beat it. I just installed it and I will work around the size. It is also already geared low enough without any reduction or a 55t motor. It's perfect and saved me tons of money on reductions and motors. You can see a nice pic on the Tower link to it.

Oh, but it's not. That plastic is really light and the tires are nice and wide and I plan to add longer axles anyway to give link clearence but I have driven it with the rear drive shaft only and it was not bad at all. It will sitt a little lower eventually because i have spacers on the springs now.

Well I did some more work and here are the pics. The first are with the fenders that proved to not be usuable if I want any kinda of articulation so the next pics are without the fenders.

Now without fenders and also compared to the the Unimog in it's original form (My daughters Uni )

Hope ya like it, I do.... I think it looks tough so far. Still need drive shafts though before I can test drive it.
