| My TLT action pics of conquering a "Hole" (look at me ORCRC!)haha
Just thought i would show all you ORCRC guys how my TLT is working. I had seen the infamous hole in the ORCRC vids but have never driven it. Today i was out driving this truck and i found a similar hole in my backyard. It looks to be smaller but it was pretty tough to conquer it. There is about 4 inches of flat ground in between the hole and the house (the path i take) and about 10 or 11 inches on the far side of the hole which i have to some how turn the truck 90* in or burn all the way through. It took me a good 20 or 30 minutes of straight driving and falling (yup my chassis fell and fell alot and is holding up very well) to conquer it. here is a picture sequence. I would have taken a video but it was dark out. Also none of these pictures are poser shots. More explanation below the pictures. 1. Approaching at an angle 2. Climbing off the cement pad still at an angle 3. easing into position -somewhat of a gap between 3 and 4. what happens in there is the front left tire goes into the exhaust thingy in the side of the house and then a quick right turn (zero throttle) releases the tire and it ends up in the position you see in frame 4. 4. From this point it is hanging on to the edge and it seems to be impossible to continue. 5. Slowly easing the front tires up onto level ground. the truck now straddles the hole and again it seems impossible to continue. 6. I gunned it while turning left swinging the rear end right along the edge of the hole but then stopping right as i reached the next cement pad as to not hit it and fall back but still holding a tad bit of throttle so that it doesn't slide back into the hole. (that was the trickiest part and took some focus and driving finess). 7. (the first time i burned sideways all the way along the edge which was pretty cool but i couldn't get a picture because i would have to put the radio down to take the picture which would let the truck fall back) This time i just climbed the cement pad a little to get all the tires safely planted 8. Driving along side the cement pad 9. All tires flat on the ground 10. Safe! The hole has been conquered! |

Doesn't look anything "the hole" to me...... Really "The Hole" is just that, something you play in, and not drive around....With "the hole", you drive head first into it, hang the rear tire and reverse out. I think I was the only one at the last ORCRC Comp that even did it during the comp just to do it and got zero points! It did get a little harry, but I made it out. I think two other people tried and failed...... Last edited by 4RnrRick; 07-15-2005 at 09:33 AM. |

Now that's a hole! I've seen a few others on the internet as well. Some of them there was definately no driving out of. |

For "the Hole" that I shown you actually have to fall a bit father into it before the front tires get to a spot that gives you enough traction to get back out of it. I've seen Toyofast hang his Bulu by just a couple thread block of his right rear tire and drive back out of it as well as several other ORCRC guys..... The "obstical" really isn't that hard once you figure it out.

yeah i go there once in awhile. I don't really like their service though cause they think that building rc's is all about using aftermarket parts that were MADE to fit your truck. They always question me when i do something as little as putting evader shocks on a stampede. I might call them and see if they have the mashers. I was in the area of tammies doing other stuff too so it was convinient and they are more knowledgable and open minded.
