Default The start of my Flatbed, tlt Bruiser

Well I finally got a start on a flatbed for my TLT Bruiser today. It all started with a simple sheet of steel. Then shortly after some side bars were added to it.

I am not sure what I will do next with it. But this is a good start. And I like it so far.

So here are the pics.

Thanks guys :P

I actually love how Badgers bed turned out, and would trade my bed for his any day

Its taken far to long to get to this point though. I tried quite a few ideas and scraped them all. The other designs were all very complicated. And I wanted somthing simple, yet strong.

I likes it a lot. I would dream of cutting my body but looks sweet. I tried duplicatating one real truck and srapped it. Thinking about doing a full skeloton to save the body but might do something kinda like yours with the flatbed if I get a cab off of ebay. Tires scrub in the back. I want at least one original body. Lookin' good. Love the front bumper.

Yup it's flat. I had some huge issue on clodtalk about the one I built for badg not being a flatbed. Freaking techno geeks. anyway are you planing on adding anymore to it?

Right now it feels like it is missing somthing, just looks naked. But I am not sure what I will add just yet. I will have to play with some ideas.

Well first off I'd take some 1/2" x 1/8" flat stock and add it along the underside of the sheetmetal with a wheel well notch. Then I'd add some of that 1/2" box to the rear underside. In between the newly added sides. That will cap the box tube and give you some place for tow points or faux tail lights. Then I'd something cage like to the top by the cab. Shall a draw pic to help with the visual? I can if it needs better explaination. I'm better with drawing than words, and even better with metal.

But then I wouldn't be able to remove the cab, unless I remove the back panel that I added to it :-P

Yeah, I'm tryin' to think of a cage I can remove with like 4 screws or 8 at the most. Protect the cab but not be a pain to remove.

yeah i like the way rckjeeps drawing looks. Gives it a bit more beef. From the side that flat metal plate looks a little whimpy.

WOW! what cad programs did you guys use? Those are great looking :-p

Actually really impressed by your two different views rckjeep. And Frankn yours is a good layout too.

I'll have to take some scrap material and try some mockups. I am not sure if I want a full cage on top of it, or just some side padels. Also I will probably make a rear bumper to match the front.

Ya I use a older canadian version called crapCAD. I doubt I'd ever figure out CAD. I"m a computer moron. I call badger every few days asking him questions.

Frkan, always needs "more triangulation"
