Default Mini-T Clod-Maxx crawler

just an idea i'm kicking around:

use two Mini-T rear ends, with the suspension locked like a Maxx crawler (use RC18 arms in front so it'll steer). it'd have two motors like a Clod, and be micro-sized with a booty-fabbed chassis.

i have no idea what the point would be, but it could happen.

I toyed around with that exact same idea a while back, but decided against it in the end for the sake of symplicity and cost.

Now I'm trying to fill the void left by that idea with a VMG project..............

i also thought about this, sorta. I was just gonna fab up some new a arms, and keep the independent suspension. But i never got around to it. Maybe sometime later.

Anyhoo. The idea could work. Small scale can get hard squeezing everything in. But the whole idea is feasible. Its just like making a stampede locked out with 4link. Which I am sure KWAC commented on, since his attempt had some bugs (I don't know why you gave up though). Cost might be another issue, since a VMG can be had for $50-60

4 linked pede was done two years ago by a guy who went by Ghimni!! Some of the rcmt.net members might remeber it.

yeah i saw the 4 link pede, and actually had a swing at it myself, just never finished. I was only doing it because i couldnt find someone to sell me some clod axles at a fair price, then the tlt came out and i decided to go that route instead. But yes it has been done.

The hardest part would be getting one, or both, rear end assemblys to steer. People have been moding pede trannys to steer for as long as i can remember, so thats not a problem. Plus there arent alot of small trucks that you can rob parts off of that will fit the mini t. Maybe that mini 4x4 truck called the spider?

Actually, all you would have to do to make the front steering woudl be to rob A-Arms and the hub assembly and such off of a 18T then mount a steering sero vertical.

I dont see much a point. If you had a kickass clod, and you wanted a 1/18th scale version, that would be cool. But you can get TLT axles or VMG axles and do the same 1/18th crawler.

i already have a mini-T and was trying to think of something cool to do with it, other than dropping a buttload of $ for a brushless setup. it does seem kinda pointless so i'll just resume my search for an ATV body for the thing.

I thought the people who made the leo-x (VMG) had released a 4wd belt driven 1:18 buggy. It was a whole lot more hobby looking than the VMG too.
