Hey i am thinkin about going 4ws on my TLT.. i was just wondering is it worth it... i mean i would need to spend 30 bucks on a tq3 mod it and buy a new servo...if i do do a 4ws set up would a 645mg be stong enough for the rear? i have one up front but the rear takes alot of blows.

well if you want to go with 4ws you dont need a tq3 you can use a 2 channel radio. just get a y harness or a reversing y harness. 645mg would be perfect.

yes its worth it and the TQ3 wil help out alot. that way you can have independant rear steer. with a Y harness, some like to add more glitching and stuff through them. but the TQ3 is your best bet |

ya in not gonna go with a y harness... thats just a little dumb... i wonder if my speed control / tq3 reciever will be able to handle 2 645mg's I have a Lrp runner... |

Nvm i found it... The specs are as follows BEC Output Voltage 5.0V BEC Current 30 sec 1.6A BEC Current 5 min. 0.6A A 645mg specs are Idle current @4.8 volts 8.8mah Runnin current 350mah SOO for 30 seconds i would have enought amps to run the things... hmmm i have an LRP f1 pro reverse... lets check the specs on that. ARE YOU ****IN KIDDING ME!!!! MY GOD DAMN 50$ RUNNER HAS THE SAME ****IN BEC CURRENT AS MY ****IN 110$ F1 Pro reverse!!!! RRRRRRR OK I HAVE VENTED |

A good alternative to the SR is the Tekin Rebel-2. It's a bit cheaper than the SR and has a higher rated BEC. I have one and I think it's a great speed control for a crawler.

OK another question... say if i had a way to lower the voltage of my battery from like 8.2 (fully charged 6 cell) down to 6 volts and have it stay there would i have n e problems with to many amps being fed to the servos? cus i think i have a VERY cheap way to get the voltage down... and its not with resistors ... thoes things are piles of crap! WOW nice bec current on the Tekin Rebel-2 I THINK i may have solved it... answer the question above about to many amps being fed to the servos... i can now get a 6 amp continuous current and i can drop the voltage in either .6 or .8 volt incriments... hopfully the full amperage of the battery wont hurt the servos. i dont think it wont ... OH and ya if the amps doesnt matter(as in to many amps) i will have a voltage regulator for $2.49 Last edited by nd4spdbh; 07-22-2005 at 12:07 AM. |

Don't worry about the amp draw. The battery doesn't push amps. The servos draw amps and they only pull what they need. There are a lot of aftermarket BECs out there. Tell us what you came up with. |

OH ill give u alittle hint... I used these on a 2 pole 6 position rotary switch to lower the voltage on my comp fans to make them quieter...i did this instead of a rehostat cus the things i put on the rotary swith can handle alot more amps! And the little things start with a D |

AHH here is my voltage reducer in all of its glory... THE SECRET IS OUT... I used 4 rectifer diodes that handle up to 6 amps... the average drop per diode is right around .7 volts. But this drop lessens a little as you go down in voltage... HEre are some pics The black thing on top of the reciever is the reducer. These where what was used Specs on them Voltage from the battery Voltage after going through the reducer. So lets c 7.73 - 5.37 = 2.36 / 4 = .59 volts dropped average / diode... But the first one drops more than the second and the second more than the third. OH ya all i did was take a lead from the + and - on the speed control battery plug. The - went straight to the servo But the + has 4 diodes in a series before it hits the servo sort or like this. |

AHH she works like a charm... right about when the battery is dead the voltage to the servo becomes right within .1 volts of the bec voltage on my ESC. But other than that its always above that so i get more torque out of my servo YEAH!

He he i think i have found an EVEN BETTER WAY... for a Constant voltage instead of just droping it.!!! Wont have 6 amps of power tho only 2 mabey 4 depends on how many i want to buy. |

ok the voltage 'regulator' i had above was VERY dumb... i have made a new one the is an actual Regulaor i will post pics in a new thread tommorrow when i get a new resistor...22ohm is to much i need a 10 ohm. He he who says a 5 volt fixed regulator is actually fixed... i made it put out right at 6 volts ...the regulator i made today looks like crap just like every first one looks like but tommorows will like alot better... This is an awsome little project for someone that doesnt want to buy a new ESC...or a regulator. I kno a 1 or 2 amp current isnt a bunch but a 2 amp current will run 2 645's no problem and a 1 amp current will run one 645.... i will try to get a 'how to' up tommorrow. |
