Default rubi tuber first try

Ok so this is my first attempt at brazing/ making a tuber. I guess I'm doing alright. I've hit somewhat of a road block with the lower half. Thats what I get for running blind without drawings and bending like crazy. I'm definately connecting the door frames, and I'm using a stealth trans. Any input or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.

Since you using a body its not that hard to figure out the basic shape of your tuber.Just fallow the shape of the fenders wells and the shape of the doors......etc.....basicly the shape of the body is what your tuber is kinda gonna look like.make sence?

looks good so-far

For a first attempt it looks good! So you're using a torch and pipe sauder?

As for building tips, triangles are your friends.

Here is another idea i had, but for the upper half. Feel free to use this design. And if you dont like it, you could always not use it.

Aparently great minds think alike. I had that rear all set even before I saw your pics. I didn't get very far due to "girlfriend time." But all and all its starting to take shape... sort of. I'm stalling on the lower half because i'm getting gemillers lot of stuff including a stealth tranny. I've never seen one so i want to build it around the mounting points.

Heres something:

ps- that ugly thing in the background is my horrid first tlt attempt aka "the 7 up yours"

Looks awesome, I'm about to build a tuber myself with a stealth tranny (I think) .... Its an rc10 T3 or T2 tranny.. I know that much.

Heres a link to it. I have two of them, and they have different mounting points, so dont go off mine. Kid's Tlt... Just some pics of my tlt
I stopped building that one due to dogbone issues.

Since the yolk thing was off to the side, whenever I flexed the dogbones wouldn't have room to go anywhere because my wheelbase was shortening or something. Oh well, I just thought I'd let you know about that problem. If you want to know more about that problem, just ask.

I can't wait to see the finished project of yours.

Oh yeah, those pics I have, I only have two links mounted and I dont have the dogbones in. I didnt take pics of it with all 4.

I've spent the last hour staring at my last project, and I think i'm just going to tear the pede tranny out. It's not a real project until you break something else to make a the new one. Pics tomm.

So, I'm doing this all by eyeballing it. No drawings no plans, just doing whatever looks like its going to work. If anyone sees something flawed (mechanicaly speaking), please tell me. Did the bull bar and the tranny base today.

Your work looks good. Are you using rod or tube? What brazing rod and flux are you using?
